John W. Golden began selling his artwork at eleven years old. His mother, a watercolor painter, gave him a corner in her gallery for his own, and he has been designing and making art ever since. For years, as a teenager, he hand-tinted pen-and-ink prints of lighthouses, inspired by the ones he saw around him in North Carolina.
Now Golden is known for illustrating vintage-inspired art of robots, fish, dragons, banjos, and anything else fun and funky, including these dogs from his Fido series. The artist makes each pooch digitally and reproduces it on paper or on wooden blocks that he cuts to size in his studio. And you know what? He still sells these and the rest of his art at his familys gallery, The Golden Gallery.
He has illustrated these fifty different dog breeds, from the tiny Chihuahua to the massive English mastiff, and he just keeps designing more. If you have a dog, can you find yours here? Do you see your friends dogs? The artist has written the type of dog on each sticker, so take a look and see which ones you know. Happy stickering!
