Vernon Panton

Born in Denmark in 1926, Verner Panton was trained as an industrial engineer in Odense before going on to become one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century designers. After studying under prolific designer Arne Jacobsen in the early 1950s, Panton started his own firm in 1953. The designer of the first ever single-form injection-moulded plastic chair, he is known for his innovative and radical approach to design.
