Antonio Citterio (1950 - )
“Designing is communicating: 50% of the design process is talking, talking, talking. The defining of the briefing, determining direction, that’s my most important role. You have to sense and sometimes provoke: is what the client asks for really what he wants?”
Antonio Citterio was born in Meda, Italy. Graduating with a degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University in Milan, Citterio opened his design studio in 1972.
Citterio has designed for many successful and influential design houses including Flos, B&B, Kartell and Vitra. Citterio's design aesthetic can be desribed with the ironic but fitting trait of timeless modern.
